Steinhauer will skip U.S. Women’s Open

“They were in the area setting up the course,
and it just kind of got me going,” she said. “So
I decided to play in it. I had my family here, and
that really did kind of close out my career.”
Steinhauer said she has some vivid memo-
ries of the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open, where she
shot 76-75 and missed the cut.
