WSGA Senior Tour Championship
They play all season at 12 Senior Tour
events trying to qualify for the Senior Tour
Championship at Wild Rock GC in Wiscon-
sin Dells. This season, Andy Makar of the
Links at Grand Geneva made the most of
that odyssey with a one-point win in the
gross competition at the Senior Tour
Championship. Makar recorded 35 points
in the Stableford format, edging Mike
Hilton of Rivermoor CC in Waterford, who
scored 34. Kurt Joa of the Bull at Pinehurst
Farms was third with 32 points.
Competitions are held at the Senior Tour
Championship in gross and net competitions and in both Senior (ages 55-64) and
Super-Senior (65 and older) divisions. Players advance to the championship by winning one of those categories at any of the
12 qualifying events or through a season-long points list compiled by the WSGA.

In senior net play, Twoie Gallagher of Yahara Hills GC in Madison won the title with
40 points. One point behind was Rory
Suomi of SentryWorld. There was a three-way tie for third.
WSGA Golf League Championship
In Super-Senior play, Mike Sorgi of Blue
Mound G&CC won the gross competition
with 32 points. Madison players Bill Cun-
ningham of Cherokee CC and Jim Martin
of Yahara Hills GC tied for second place
with 30 points.
Two teams who play in a league at Kettle
Hills GC in Richfield battled for the top
spot at the WSGA Golf League Championship in early October. The tournament,
for teams in leagues who used the WSGA
league management system during the
2011 season, was held at North Shore CC
in Mequon. Players must be at least 21
years old to participate in the event.
The winning Kettle Hills team – consisting of Steve Rivett, Rick Broetzmann, Dan
Elwing and Pat Voss – finished the tournament with a score of 124. Scores are calculated by adding the two lowest individual
net scores from each team on every hole.
The runner-up team from Kettle Hills,
which shot a score of 125, consisted of
John O’Keane, Ron Bates, Mark Arbuckle
and Scott Schaefer.
Tied for third at 131 were three teams
representing West Bend Lakes GC. And
another West Bend Lakes team finished
ninth in the 11-team field. ______________________________________

WWSGA Husband-Wife Championship
The Kunicks, members at Hidden Glen
GC in Cedarburg, shot 154 in the event.
Joe shot 69, and Helen shot 85.
Finishing second at 159 were Alan and
Debbie Thompson (73-86) of Watertown
CC. Bob and Pat Kraft (78-90) of Tripoli CC
finished third at 168.
Tim and Mickey Guyette of Tripoli won
the overall gross title at 142, as Tim shot a
net 74 and Mickey shot a gross 68. The
Krafts finished second in the net division
with a score of 144.

WPGA Championship
Eddie Terasa entered the final round of
the WPGA Championship at Bishops Bay
CC in Middleton with a one-stroke lead
over Jim Schuman, but Terasa recorded
three birdies in his first seven holes and
pulled away to a five-stroke victory.
WWSGA Mid-Amateur Championship
Wells shot 75-76–151 to win the gross
division by two strokes over Rheba Mabie
of Sentry World in Stevens Point, who shot
77-76–153. Maggie Leef of the Legend
Clubs finished third by shooting 77-82–
159.
Jill Trider of Brown County GC won the
overall net competition with a score of 70-
73–143. Peg Carlson of Yahara Hills GC in
