The Wisconsin Women’s State Golf
Association Father-Daughter Championship
and Mother-Son Championship were both
held at Madison’s Nakoma GC on July 25.
Lewis and Lizi Brooks of Bishops Bay CC
in Middleton won the gross title at the
Father-Daughter Championship with an
alternate-shot score of 74. That tied Dave
and Elizabeth Funk of Fox Valley GC in
Kaukauna, but the Brookses prevailed
in a scorecard playoff.
The Christiansens also won the net
division with a score of 65. The Funks
finished second with a score of 67.
In Mother-Son competition, Jackie and
Michael Hayes of Nakoma shot 76 in the
gross competition to beat Susan and Greg
Daggett of Lakeshore Municipal GC in
Oshkosh, who shot 78.
Gert and Jamie Sullivan of West Bend
CC won the overall net competition at the
Mother-Son with a score of 67. The
Daggetts were second with a 70.

Mark Bemowski won the WSGA Senior
Match Play Championship for the third
time in July with a 4-and- 3 final match win
over Richard Pfeil of Evergreen GC in
tie at the top with Tim and Kyle Murphy of
Eau Claire G&CC. The Drugans won the
title on the fourth playoff hole.
In net competition, held on the Pines
course, Gary Blazer of Rolling Meadows
GC in Fond du Lac and Aaron Blazer of
Wanaki GC in Menomonee Falls shot 65 to
win the title. One stroke back at 66 was
the team of John and Owen Theune of
Rock River CC in Horicon.
Another playoff decided the open gross
competition, for teams in which one of the

Bemowski, a member at Kettle Moraine
GC in Dousman, made three consecutive
birdies to complete the front nine to grab
the lead, and never trailed again.
In Super-Senior competition, for players
65 and older, John Hogden of La Crosse
CC in Onalaska beat Gary Oftedahl of
Yahara Hills GC in Madison, 1-up, in the
championship match.

Maggie Leef won the Senior division at
the Wisconsin Women’s Public Links Asso-
ciation State Senior/Super-Senior Champi-
onship at Northwood GC in Rhinelander.
Leef, a member of the Legend Clubs, shot
75-78–153 to finish four strokes ahead of
Pat Roisum of Lake Ripley CC in Cam-
bridge. Roisum shot 77-80–157.
